altea

Altea

The famous blue dome of the church located in the popular Plaza, is one of the Costa Blanca’s emblems. Altea is a traditional fishing village with steep and narrow cobbled streets with lookout points and small squares that look out to sea and over the mountains. The peace and quiet here have turned Altea into a paradise for artists and craftspeople whose shops and stalls line the Old Quarter.

guadalest
Guadalest

Perched atop a tall rocky outcrop, the houses of this town are set into the rock and dominate the vast valley surrounded by the district’s mountains. The town itself has been declared an historic-artistic site and is divided into two neighbourhoods: the church that literally hangs off the rock, protected by the ancient wall and the Arrabal district which stretches down the mountainside.

finestrat
Finestrat

Here we find ourselves in a small inland village flanked by mountains which makes this a farming village. Its very own watchtowers have been historically used to defend the coast from pirate invasions. A number of hiking routes set out from its Arab castle, a wonderful place from which to look out over the Marina Baixa area.

calpe
Calpe

A tourist town located at the foot of the Peñón de Ifach Natural Park, which is a great vantage point for panoramic views of the surrounding coast and mountains. Other reasons to visit Calpe are its characteristic fishing streets, its seafront promenade and, in the afternoon, the Port, where you can witness the arrival of the fishing boats and the subsequent fish auction.

villajoyosa
Villajoyosa

This is a traditional fishing and chocolate-making town. Its port and seafront promenade are lined with the multi-coloured facades of the locals’ houses. If you visit the port in the afternoon, you will be able to attend the lively fish and seafood auction where the local fleet’s daily catches are sold. This town’s chocolate industry also has a long and interesting history, as you will be able to see for yourself at the Ethnographic Museum.

alicante
Alicante

Alicante, the capital of the province of the same name, combines tradition and modernity in its streets that open out onto the Mediterranean. The emblematic and busy promenade known as the Explanada that runs parallel to the port, Santa Bárbara Castle and the Old Quarter are all places to take stroll when visiting this city.

isla de benidorm
Isla de Benidorm

Opposite the beaches lies Benidorm Island which is connected to the mainland via the golondrina (swallow) boat service, so-called as it runs small boats to provide visitors with a pleasant trip out to sea. A large number of marine species inhabit the waters off this island..

elche
Elche

Elche is witness to the splendorous past of the Iberian culture, during which time the Dama de Elche was sculptured. This was a fortified city of Al-Andalus until its reconquest by the Christians in 1265. Elche is located in the heart of the largest palm tree grove in Europe. The Palmeral Palm Tree Park, legacy of the Andalusí farming culture, has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

valencia
Valencia

The City of the Arts and Sciences is undoubtedly a more than sufficient reason for visiting the city of Valencia. However, you shouldn’t miss its incredibly beautiful old quarter where you can take a leisurely stroll around the Cathedral and the Miguelete Tower, La Lonja Auction Hall, La Estación del Norte railway station, the Serrano and Quart Towers, the Dos Aguas Towers…

tarbena

Tárbena

The most outstanding feature of this village is its mountain scenery. Its mild climate, although with the odd snowfall, makes this an ideal place for visitors to breathe in the fresh mountain air. Several hiking routes with surprising panoramic views set off from this village.

deleitar
Deleitar el paladar

This area provides us with a wide range of possibilities: rice dishes and locally caught fish. Each town has its own specialities: arroz negro (black rice), arroz a banda (rice cooked in fish broth), caldero de peix (fish stew), paella aladroc (rice with anchovies) …. And further inland, the pilotes de dacsa (corn dumplings), coques (savoury pastries), olleta del blat (wheat stew)… And in Benidorm, as well as the local cuisine, you will find a wide variety of international restaurants.
