Spain, the defending champion, classified on Sunday 9th March for the male tennis quarter finals of the Davis Cup with an easy victory over Serbia (4-1), on the court at Benidorm (south-east).
Ranked World Number 1, Rafael Nadal, played his hosts to victory in an impressive three sets, scoring 6-4, 6-4, 6-1, in two hours and twenty-seven minutes, against Novak Djokovic, who had lost the previous Saturday, also in three sets, to Spaniard David Ferrer.
With this victory, the Spanish team will meet Germany in the quarter finals, which beat Austria 3-2 in the first round at Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
